The Change In Standard Of Living Of Dogs
by peter john
The man-dog relationship started since the time of human evolution. The human race should count themselves lucky to be gifted with such a nice, friendly and reliable animal friend gifted by God. It is amazing to see the turnover of the relationship that started as a partnership of natural process into an advantageous friendship with the changing time. The minted phrase "It's a Dog's Life" which was earlier very famous because of the woeful condition of the dogs sleeping outside, fed on whatever scraps of food were tossed his way and was even expected to earn his keep is now out of market. In this century the minted phrase has been converted into a new phrase "wish to reborn as a dog" which reflects the change in standard of living in dogs. With the changing time the inclination to keeping dogs is increasing because they make happy and reliable companions. Dog lovers are always preoccupied with keeping their canine companions happy, healthy, and properly supplemented which reflects the change in their thoughts from rejection to acceptance that started decades ago. People are more concern about their dog's health than their own and take immense pleasure to hang out with their dogs than with friends because pets besides giving pleasure also impart a therapeutic effect on the owner. People get bonded with their pets readily because they do not judge us instead they do almost anything to keep us happy and dogs in particular offer the kind of unconditional love we all crave. They take the place of children and provide very sort of happiness to their childless owner or fill up the empty nest with their presence. People treat them much the same way as they treat their children. Apart from taking care, a tremendous amount of money is spent providing goods and services that were once viewed as a luxury but are now considered essential. Dogs are given regular checkups, enrolled in obedience classes and provided premium dog food to impart proper habit. For entertainment purposes different types of pet shows are organized where they can participate. Especially designed toys are made for their entertainment purposes. Most interestingly dogs have their own collections of clothing, jewelry and canine cologne. Doggie sunglasses are also available in the market to protect them from UV rays when they are out in the sun. Different types of harness are available that serves different purposes for example a safety harness when riding in the family car, a reflective vest on hunting trips, and rain gear in foul weather. Not only this luxury orthopedic bed is made for the dog to sleep and a cedar dog house to take shelters outdoors.

Easy Steps To Get Rid Of Pica In Your Dog
By: peter john
What is Pica in your dog? Pica is a type of illness that causes your pet to eat non-food items in an attempt to deal with nausea. If you find your little beast gnawing your things from shoes to books or anything that is not eatable then rush to your veterinarian and make sure your animal has a proper treatment because such habits may get dangerous for the pup. Though chewing is a normal and healthy part of any pup's development, as they learn about their world through chewing much the same as human children but care should be taken to protect them from the dangers that lurk in their explorations. Therefore beside having some acceptable outlets there are also unacceptable outlets in chewing. Train your dog as early as possible with the word "NO" that can save your dog from disasters. Using the word "NO" in an affirmative tone every time when you find him chewing uneatable things is the best way to train him. You can also remove the item before your dog reaches for it or supporting your "NO" with a spray from a water bottle, a loud clapping of the hands or a light but convincing tap on the nose will also help you to make your dog lose interest in whatever he may have been chewing on. Do not give chase to your dog chewing on an undesirable thing because they will interpret this action of yours to be a game and they will be most happy to play for hours instead, calmly remove the object without being notice. You can also make chewable item of your dog unpalatable by spraying chemical additive such as Bitter Apple in order to add a foul taste. Next most effective training is the Crate Training which stops the chewing behavior of your dog. It is also not likely to completely destroy your dogs urge to chew, as this habit is healthy for them when exercised correctly. They should be offered suitable objects for their chewing pleasure and would provide good outlets for a dog's destructive behavior and also help to keep up the oral hygiene of your pet. A dog toy, rope toys and crunchy dog biscuits will be ideal. Dogs differ in their temperament so if your dog becomes aggressive and territorial, when not allowed to chew their favorite item then take the help of professional assistance to avoid further problems or biting.
